We all have different thoughts and points of view about religion, faith, belief, and God. Many religions are claiming that they are the true church that Jesus Christ built. Almost all of them have their way to serve and follow all God’s commands. I am focusing on Christianity. Deciding where to join and believe is our own choice. If you feel and believe in their doctrines then it’s your choice to join and be part of their faith.
I was born a devoted Roman Catholic. I entered Catholic schools from kinder to High School. I was a 100% Lasallian and Rosarian. I became a choir member in my school coral. I also joined the Holy Cross Choir and Samahan nga Maria ng Lourdes in our church. I love participating in sharing bible verses with my churchmates, went on a youth camp and learned bible scriptures with church members from different places, helped other people who participated in “Karakol” during fiestas, donated food and money to church and being active to different church activities. Well, I am happy that I have a family that is devoted to following church activities and their deep faith in God.
But maybe I have a different path. I entered graduate school in Laguna and unexpectedly, I lived in the apartment owned by Church of Christ members and it is also located at the front of the Church of Christ’s Church or know as “Kapilya”. I was invited to listen to their doctrines. Entering the Church of Christ isn’t that easy. You have to be determined to know the true religion and put your heart into it. They will not insist you to join, it’s your choice if you want to continue or not.
Multiple challenges and struggles came to my life but I know I won’t fall. My heart knows that this is the way of our one true God to challenge my faith and to believe in him. Every one of us have different problems in life and we just have to learn how to face these problems without living God. Who does not have a problem? That’s impossible, right? But all of us still smile and help other people even though we’re carrying heavy burdens within us.
Luckily, I knew our heavenly father called me. I am so happy that I was baptized as a new member of the Church of Christ. This decision isn’t easy. I know in the future, my family will hate me for doing so but I already think about it multiple times and I believe God wants me to do something. God has a purpose in inviting me to enter his kingdom.
I am not an expert about religion and beliefs but I only follow what my heart and what I think is true for me. Debating about religion has no end or difficult to end. I respect every religion’s belief and faith. I respect how they view and understand the bible.
We have our own lives and understanding to choose what religion shall we believe in. If you don’t believe it’s your choice. No one shall insist you because it’s your life. I believe that everything happens with his approval and guidance. You must be strong and religiously upright.
You have to weigh if you believe or not but you don’t have the right to talk back against other religions or criticize others’ beliefs. They showed you their beliefs, invited you to listen and if you don’t believe in them and not convinced on how they interpret the word of God then, it’s your free will to decide. I encourage you to not humiliate other religions and beliefs.
Converting to another religion is a tough decision to make. It is changing your religious views wholeheartedly.
If you don’t feel the holy spirit is within you by doing and following church services, ask your ministers and brothers in the faith or whomever you want to ask with the same religion you’re in. They might help you to enlighten your blurry faith and confused mind. However, you can always try to listen and discover new beliefs.
You can always go to different religions and listen to their doctrines. In that case, you will find what’s the missing piece in you but it will depend on your path and God’s will.
Do you want to listen to the Church of Christ’s doctrines? Everyone is always welcome. Visit the locale or district near you and tell them that you are curious about the Church of Christ doctrines.
